Songwriters Are Now Getting Their Personal Pages & Playlists On Spotify

It's time for Spotify's songwriters to shine . As of today, Spotify songwriter sites will start. These pages work just like artist pages and are intended to present all of a songwriter's music and his most common collaborators.

The feature is still in beta, so Spotify debuts the site with top authors like Meghan Trainor, Fraser T. Smith, Missy Elliott, Teddy Geiger, Ben Billions and Justin Tranter. Others continue to be populated as this is made possible by publishers and Spotify in collaboration with the songwriters. However, interested songwriters can apply to participate in the program by filling out an online form.

Songwriter and producer credits were added to the platform for the first time in 2018. This type of information was forgotten in the digital age as the focus was more on leading and featured artists.

To access songwriter pages, first right-click on a title on the desktop or tap the "…" next to the title if you are mobile. Then click on "Song Credits" and choose the name of a clickable songwriter. On the songwriter's page, you can view and track the playlist, or click "Listen to Spotify" to instantly stream the credited songs.

"Spotify is constantly working to find new and better ways to promote music discovery – for artists, for songs, and increasingly for songwriters," said Jules Parker, head of Publishing & Songwriter Relations, Spotify, in a statement , “Publishing publicly visible songwriter credits on Spotify in 2018 was just a first step. Together with the publishing industry, we have further developed our data exchange and analysis efforts and are proud to present this next iteration, ”added Parker.

To kick off the debut of the songwriter sites, Spotify offers the first playlists "Written By" on the "Home" tab for all Spotify listeners.
