One of the main workers who were injured by the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent cancellation of shows around the world are the live music crews who are working on setting up the stages, the lighting to control, maintain the sound and much more. Tens of thousands of workers, generally independent contractors, are unpaid without shows or live events.
Live Nation arguably the largest broadcaster in the world, has launched Crew Nation which is supported by the Music Forward Foundation, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, to help everyone help feet stay in place.
Crew members are the backbone of the live music industry, and we hope that you will support them during this temporary break until we can reunite millions of people around the world through the power of live music. Crew Nation is supported by the Music Forward Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit that will manage the fund.
Live Nation has provided $ 10 million for Crew Nation – initially $ 5 million for the fund, then the next $ 5 million that artists, fans and employees will provide for dollars.
According to the fund's website, Justin Timberlake, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Metallica, Lady Gaga, KISS, Foo Fighters, Billy Joel and others have pledged their support.
