After four nights at King Edward VII Hospital in London, Prince Philip was released just in time to spend Christmas with the royal family on the Queen's estate in Sandringham. The Duke of Edinburgh was hospitalized at the end of last week as a "precaution" to treat a "pre-existing disease".
According to People Magazine, Prince Philip was helicoptered from the hospital to Norfolk, England, where the Queen Elizabeth estate is located in Sandringham, so that he could join his wife and family.

"The Duke of Edinburgh left the hospital today after being released by his doctor and is now back in Sandringham," the palace said in a statement. "His Royal Highness would like to thank everyone who sent their good wishes."
While the palace contained no details as to why the 98-year-old was hospitalized, his son Prince Charles said: "When you're this age, things don't work as well."
Buckingham Palace released a statement on Prince Philip's hospitalization on Friday. Officials said the Duke of Edinburgh had traveled from Norfolk to King Edward VII Hospital, London, for "monitoring and treatment for an existing condition." They also insisted that this was not an emergency and instead was a scheduled admission to the Royal Highness & # 39; Doctor Council.
Instead of driving the ambulance to the hospital, Prince Philip drove the private car and "went to the hospital without outside help".
While Prince Philip was in treatment, Queen Elizabeth took the train from London to Norfolk annually, which is part of her Christmas tradition. On Christmas Day, the Queen and her family will take their annual public walk from the estate to St. Mary Magdalene Church. This year Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be accepted into the family because they have decided to spend the vacation in Canada.
However, royal insiders claim that Prince George and Princess Charlotte will make their Christmas walker debut this year. Queen Elizabeth's annual Christmas speech will also air on Christmas Day, which is broadcast on television, online and on the radio.
Prince Philip retired from public life more than two years ago and has faced a number of health problems in recent years. He is still trying to attend family events like weddings since he was present at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in May 2018 and at the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor and Thomas Kiingston in May 2019.
Prince Philip also participated in the legendary photo after the birth of Archie Harrison, which also featured Queen Elizabeth, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Markle's mother Doria Ragland.
