PLL Cast Reunited and Shared Secrets From the Set

The cast of Pretty Little Liars has practically reunited for a good cause, and now we’re really in the mood for donuts.

Lucy Feed, Shay Mitchell, Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Janel Parrish, Ian Harding, Tyler Blackburn, and creator Marlene King came together with moderator Damian Holbrook to remember a little Friday morning it’s actually a lot more talking about crafting services than you might think. Apparently the donuts that were offered on the set of this show for seven seasons were good enough to eat five of them a day.

Of course, there was more than just donut memories when reuniting.

After making it clear that Keegan Allen, who played Toby, was only absent because he is “out in the middle of the mountains” and working to become a lumberjack/miner, the cast spoke about hers Favorite scenes and moments from the years of filming.

Alison’s Evolution

Sasha Pieterse was 12 years old when they were filming the pilot, but as Marlene King said: “They were so intimidating!”

“Keegan was scared of me. I screamed at him the first time we shared a scene. He was really scared of me, which I enjoyed.”

After PLL, Alison became a teacher of The Perfectionists, and Pieterse found it “strange” that all of her students were definitely older than her.

How did the mothers get out of the basement?

King finally solved this riddle.

“There is a reason why Pam never drank afterward. We decided that they pulled straws and Pam got the short straw, so she had to undress and grease her with some car oil that found her and she slipped a pipe down and then let it out. ”

The hardest-to-film scene

While some said the farewell scene in the final was the most difficult to film, Mitchell said it was the most difficult to do in scenes with Benson and Blackburn and not to laugh She had to pinch herself enough to draw blood to hold it together.

King recalled a scene in the Christmas episode in which she heard Harding say to Hale, “Dead babies, dead babies, dead babies,” so as not to laugh.

The A Reveal

Parrish said that only a week before filming, she found out that she was A and that she was “really scared”, but she and Bellisario had during their 19 hours a great time shooting day, “like sitting on the floor and laughing.”

Also, A’s pants are very uncomfortable for recording.

Spoby’s Future

King says Spencer and Toby are still completely together and Spencer’s practicing rights, while Toby builds small houses for homeless veterinarians and “they probably have children”.

Do you remember the time when Spencer and Caleb met? We loved it, but not many others. Benson said she hated it, but Blackburn thought it was a fun way to stir up the show.

“I feel like it messed things up. It obviously caused a little backlash, but how … there is no bad press, you know what I mean?” he said. “I was obviously a Haleb shipper, as they say, but it was great to just mix it up and I feel like the show was getting a bit more grown-up back then. Troian and I did a lot like suggested nudity I never really did. ”

” A lot of fans were upset about it, but I still feel like some of the scenes that came out of it – like this scene between me, Ashley and Tyler, I think it is one of my favorite scenes, “added Bellisario. “I think it was just wonderful material and it was so exciting to open these pages of our characters.”

Spencer vs. Alex

Bellisario explained how the scenes were shot with Spencer’s secret twin Alex. She played against another actress who played the other role, then the two scenes were put together, but Bellisario had to keep an eye on two very different people with two very different accents. Even reading the table, which was also reading the last table, was stressful.

“I was sweating. I was so nervous. It was the most emotional thing for me because I was so nervous because it was the first time that I showed people what I had been working on as a dialect and how I was Alex would come to life and once I went through all of that and basically sweating through every garment we came to the scenes where we said goodbye and then it was just a snotty mess of tears. and reading from the table. ”

The Last Scene

The last scene that was shot was Aria, who thought Ezra had left her, and King says around 150 people had come to this last one To watch the scene, and they would have finished filming. Around 2am, the legendary Burbank staple Smoke House reopened for the cast and crew.

“I remember getting in my car when I left Smoke House and drove home from Warner Bros, and I thought this was the last time I drove home. And I think I remember crying at 4 am I can’t, “said Bellisario.

Benson and King remembered bringing an Uber home, and Benson slept with King that night.

Could a scripted show/film / special be on the cards?

Ian Harding hopes so, but he has some requirements.

“I think if it happens it has to be pretty extreme. As I want it in the first 10 minutes, one of the people in this zoom call is dying,” he said.

The entire cast later said they would be coming back for a reunion special, and Harding doubled.

“I’ll tell you as long as my idea holds true. Someone has to die.”

Pretty Little Liars was broadcast on ABC Family and Freeform.
