What started out as the idea of the marketing director of Atlantic Records and the campaign manager for Platoon artists has evolved from a majority of the music industry to a widespread solidarity level tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2. Every major record label and even Spotify are committed to separating themselves from work, social media and general music support and reconnecting to the community.
This is against the backdrop of ongoing protests that began in response to the murder of George Floyd and have since escalated to a general outcry from the Black Lives Matter.
Labels Atlantic and Interscope have also pledged not to release any music this week.
Here at Your EDM, we will join this effort without posting articles tomorrow and without social media activity.
