A man in Missouri was arrested on Monday and charged with terrorist threats after posting a video in which he licked objects inside a local walmart amid the spread of the corona virus.
According to NBC News, court documents said that Cody Lee Pfister posted a video in Warrenton on March 11 in which he licked deodorants Walmart. When he licked the packets, he asked, "Who's afraid of coronavirus?"
The Warrenton Police Department said they received calls from local residents and people outside the country when they reported the video.
Lt. Justin Unger said, "We take this incident very seriously, especially with this infectious disease and the state the country is in. We take these things seriously to protect our community."
The criminal complaint states that the suspect "knowingly caused false belief or fear that a life-threatening condition exists".
Pfister's lawyer spoke to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and said that the pandemic labeled COVID-19 was a pandemic and that "public behavior that was immature on March 10 looks completely different from today's perspective".
Pfister appeared in court on Wednesday and is expected to appear in May.
