Derek Jones, guitarist for the post-hardcore band Falling in Reverse in Las Vegas, has died. His bandmate Ronnie Radke revealed the news. He was 35. The cause of death is currently unknown. Pitchfork contacted Falling in Reverse representatives.
Jones was one of the original members of the band and with Radke one of only two members who stayed in the group from the beginning. The band's debut album was The Drug in Me Is You in 2011. The band released a "revised" version of the title track earlier this year. They released a total of four albums, all of which were released by Epitaph. Her last was Coming Home in 2017.
"I'll never forget when you picked me up from prison in your old Tour Van to fall backwards," wrote Radke. "Your mind will be interwoven with the music that I write forever. Rest in peace Derek Jones. My heart is broken. "
