Before she turned 30 on Friday, Taylor Swift made sure that she marked another milestone first. On Thursday, the last day of her twenties, Swift finally met Billie Eilish, also known as the pop culture fountain of youth. The encounter was symbolic, but by no means the only one between Eilish and a revered celebrity during the evening. Competitors of Billboard Women in Music Awards such as Nicki Minaj, Normani and Cyndi Lauper also got to know Eilish – which in every way means that they had to stand next to her long enough to take a photo.
Towards the end of 2019, it is clearer than ever that Eilish's career is just beginning. Also clearer than ever: the fact that celebrities, like real people, can be hit by the stars. And since there's no better way to express your belief than to take a photo and post it on social media, occupying the room alongside Eilish has become the ultimate photo opportunity this year. The 17-year-old has repeatedly agreed, but does not seem to have the need to return the favor: Of the seemingly infinite possibilities, Eilish has enthusiastically posted only a few, including Avril Lavigne, Billie Joe Armstrong, Justin Bieber and Dapper Dan.
